Alec MacDonald has drawn and painted most of his life. Migrating to New Zealand for work in 1979 he fell in love with the land and waterscapes around him. For the last 30 or so years he has worked in a superrealist style on landscapes for their tranquility and loneliness. He is equally drawn to the dissonance and suspense of understated surrealism and finds much inspiration in both dreams and his sense of the ridiculous. Prints of certain works are also available.
