Bruce Ingoe Original Artworks

Bruce Ingoe describes his artwork as ‘Postcards from the Hedge’. Painting en plein air (outdoors) in the Wairarapa finds him set up alongside hedgerows, wind-breaks, roadside and in gateways to capture the New Zealand farming landscape. Bruce’s work is either completed on location or has been inspired from colour sketches done on location and taken home to grow into studio works. He says, “I try to capture the heat and taste of the dust in a location or the chill wind pushing through the trees. The weather plays its part, while rain is no fun it’s wind that drives me away, when all your time is spent holding on to your gear and no painting is taking place it’s time to quit and go find somewhere for a beer.”
