Little Landscape 8 by Veronica Young
Acrylic on board
20cm x 20cm
Veronica’s work is an exploration of light and composition. Her paintings present the viewer with a complex perspective of the landscape. Loose, gestural brushstrokes are balanced with areas of refinement within the painting, creating an interplay of energy and rest. Landforms emerge and then fade again through a collection of abstract marks, subtle texture, and enigmatic light.
“My aim is not to capture a static landscape but to present nature as a creative force, endlessly shifting and changing over time. The weather, the light, the vegetation, even the landforms in flux as they are over the course of a day or a year.” Veronica is a Wellington based artist working from her home studio in Karori.
