Red Dot IV weaving by Sarah Jane Weaves
Aotearoa wool, cotton and recycled rimu
66cm x 26cm plus hanging
Sarah Jane Barnett is a writer, editor and weaver. She creates whimsical and graphic weavings from her home in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara inspired by the shapes and colours of the landscape. Each piece is woven on a hand loom from Aotearoa wool, and with a focus on creating the feeling of the landscape through texture and colour. Weaving is a slow craft, and each weaving reminds the viewer of the beauty that can arise from slowness and patience.
