These scarves feature a design taken from an original painting of a Tui (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae) feeding on the common flax or Harakeke (Phormium Tenax).
Silver Fern
This scarf design is taken from an original painting of the endemic New Zealand Silver Fern (Cyathea dealbata) – the iconic tree fern, also known as ponga, is a symbol commonly associated with the country both overseas and by New Zealanders themselves. The scarf design is an amalgamation of the upper side of the frond, which is green, and the silver underside that is characteristic of the plant.
