Leonard Victor Mitchell

DUTCH LANDSCAPES & TOWNSCAPES

Leonard was awarded the Netherlands Government Art Fellowship by the Netherlands Institute for International Cultural Relations in 1959. He held his final New Zealand exhibition in September and departed in 1960 to take up his Fellowship in Holland. Len was delighted by Holland, the home of his hero Rembrandt.

The below paintings are some of Leonard’s European landscapes and townscapes currently held by the Mitchell family or sold through Mitchell Studios gallery.

Please note that, while all efforts are made to represent artworks faithfully, nothing compares to seeing an artwork in the flesh.
Please contact us if you are interested in an artwork and we would be more than happy to provide further images or a viewing if you are in the Wellington region.
